What is Thaluna?
Thaluna is a Windows screen translator for games, visual novels, manga, anime subtitles, videos, and desktop text. It uses OCR, real-time translation, Game Lens overlays, Lens Mode, local models, and optional cloud AI to translate text directly on or near the original content.
No pausing, no alt-tabbing. Thaluna translates game dialogue instantly as it appears on screen. Perfect for anime, visual novels, and games where dialogue appears on screen.
Automatically detects text bubbles and vertical layouts. Enjoy your favorite manga with clean, overlaid translations.

Lens Mode lets you read translated text directly on top of the original, keeping the page, scene, or document exactly as it looks. Manual snapshots stay available, Continuous Lens can monitor a selected area for manga and static pages, and Game Lens adds a game-focused automatic overlay workflow for moving scenes and subtitle regions.
Automatic game text overlay
Game Lens is a dedicated game translator mode for Windows. Select the region where a game shows dialogue, subtitles, item descriptions, quest text, menus, tutorials, or UI labels, and Thaluna automatically refreshes translated overlays when the text changes.
Unlike a normal floating translator window, Game Lens can place translated text in separate overlay boxes over the original on-screen text. It is designed for games where text appears inside the world or UI, including slowly appearing typewriter dialogue and scenes where a description stays visible for a long time.
